Alex Rathmell – Managing Director

Alex Rathmell

Alex spent five years as an engineer and analyst in the energy efficiency sector with technology supplier powerPerfector Ltd, where he established an in-house evaluation team to support the performance guarantee that underpins powerPerfector’s projects. During this time Alex became interested in the field of project evaluation for energy saving schemes, which he views as the ‘missing piece’ of the UK’s energy efficiency industry. In 2009 he and colleague Hilary Wood became the first energy analysts in the UK to be accredited by EVO as ‘measurement & verification professionals’ (CMVP), and at this time idea of setting up an M&V ‘industry utility’ was born.

In early 2011, Alex managed the de-merger of his team into EEVS Insight Ltd, which has become the UK’s only dedicated M&V service provider as an independent company. “We are building a unique business here” says Alex, “We have an opportunity to help UK industry deliver the investment in the built environment that we all know is needed, and will play our part in raising the profile of the energy efficiency industry. It is a privilege to be doing this with such a committed team.”

Suzanne Pattison – Finance Director

Suzanne is a Chartered Accountant and has previously spent over ten years at Man Group Plc as Managing Director of Man Valuation Services Limited, a company responsible for over 5,000 complex fund valuations annually, $70billion of assets and a team of 120 staff.

Suzanne was responsible for establishing EEVS Insight Limited as a corporate structure and oversees the company’s financial and legal processes and operations.

Hilary Wood - Operations Manager

Hilary Wood

Hilary has a long standing interest in the conservation of natural resources. Her experience includes the development of distributed energy generation systems in Eastern Europe, improving process efficiency in the automotive industry and post graduate research in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells at Imperial College, London.

Previously a Senior Analyst at powerPerfector Ltd, Hilary is a certified M&V professional (CMVP) and was instrumental in introducing the use of IPMVP to verify the savings guaranteed by the technology supplier; the first company in the UK to do so for all of its project implementations.

Hilary is passionate about the need to improve transparency and standards when measuring the outcome of energy efficiency projects. She believes that this is key to facilitating their uptake, allowing resource efficiency technologies to realise their potential to deliver energy and carbon savings.

Ian Jeffries - Commercial Manager

Ian joined EEVS in July 2010 to lead the firm’s commercial activities and his responsibilities include business development, EEVS products and services, marketing and communications.

His appointment follows five years with property performance analysis firm, IPD, and five years at leading business lobby group, the CBI. His achievements during this time include devising and developing the highly-regarded IPD Environment Code – a global standard for measuring and benchmarking building environmental performance – and establishing an innovative environmental benchmarking service, IPD Eco-Ledger.

Whilst at the CBI, Ian led a highly successful business lobby on land-use planning reform, published Property in Business: A Guide for Senior Executives, and ran the CBI Property Group a forum of senior executives from across the business community.
